InVideo AI Alternative: How InkSlop Compares

An honest comparison of InkSlop and InVideo AI for narrated and short-form video: how each works, pricing, voices, generative video, publishing, and who each one suits.

InVideo AI turns a prompt into a finished video with AI agents, generative video models and a timeline editor. InkSlop turns a script into a finished video, with every visual and voice placed exactly where you put it. They overlap for narrated short-form video, but they are built for different ways of working. This page compares them honestly, including where InVideo is the better choice.

Pricing below was checked on InVideo's pricing page and ours on 29 September 2026. Both change often, so check before you buy.

The Short Version

  • Choose InVideo AI if you want to describe a video in a prompt and let AI agents build it, need generative video footage throughout, or want a collaborative timeline editor for a team.
  • Choose InkSlop if you make scripted, narrated videos at volume, want each word, image and effect exactly where you put it, want designed voices for different characters, and want videos scheduled straight to YouTube and TikTok.

How They Work

InVideo AI starts from a prompt. Its AI agents write the script, choose or generate the footage and assemble a draft, which you then refine in a timeline editor, with several people editing at once on higher plans.

InkSlop starts from the script, which you write or draft with AI and then edit. You pick a template (narrated video, Reddit story, poem or quote, jokes, voice only) or write the script directly. Images, effects and sounds are placed at the exact word they belong to, so the video is exactly as long as the narration and every render can be repeated. There is also an API for generating videos from code.

If you want the AI to make the creative decisions, InVideo is closer to that. If you want to make them yourself and have the production handled, InkSlop is.

Pricing

Entry plan Starter: €24.99/month, 200 credits Starter: $20 per seat per month, 400 credits
Mid plan Standard: €59.99/month, 500 credits Plus: $60 per seat per month, or $50 billed annually, 2,000 credits
Top plan Business: €200/month, 1,700 credits Max: $150 per seat per month, or $100 billed annually, 5,000 credits

The two credit systems are not comparable one to one. On InkSlop, a 60-second narrated video with a standard voice costs 3 credits, so Starter covers about 66 of them a month, and credits scale with video length, the voice used and extras like AI-generated clips. See the cost breakdown. InVideo's credits are spent by its agents and generative models, and heavy use of generative video uses them much faster.

For a channel making many short narrated videos over library or gameplay footage, InkSlop is usually cheaper per finished video. For videos that depend on generated footage in every scene, InVideo's larger plans are built for that.

Generative Video

InVideo AI puts generative video at the centre, with access to recent video models on its higher plans and 4K output on some of them.

InkSlop can generate images and short AI video clips inside a script, charged per image or clip, but most InkSlop videos use library footage, gameplay backgrounds, uploaded footage or still images with motion effects. If most of your footage has to be generated, InVideo is the stronger tool.

Voices

InkSlop has three kinds of voice: Kokoro presets for cheap everyday narration, Qwen3 presets and voice cloning, and voice design, where you describe a speaker in plain English and the model creates the voice. Voice design is especially good for stories with several characters: see the case study, or hear every engine read the same passage in our voice comparison.

InVideo has its own AI voiceovers. Compare both on your own script before deciding.

Publishing and Credits

InkSlop schedules and publishes directly to YouTube and TikTok, with a title and description for each that it can draft for you. When you use music or footage from InkSlop's library, the Creative Commons credits are written into the YouTube description automatically.

Where InVideo AI Is the Better Choice

  • You want to go from a prompt to a finished video with the AI making most decisions.
  • Your videos need generated footage in most scenes, or 4K output.
  • Several people edit the same videos together.
  • You want a timeline editor rather than a script.

Where InkSlop Is the Better Choice

  • You publish scripted, narrated videos at volume, especially Shorts and TikToks.
  • You make formats InkSlop has templates for: Reddit stories, readings, jokes, narrated explainers.
  • You want different designed voices for different characters.
  • You want exact control and repeatable results, and to build a series on the same structure.
  • You want scheduling to YouTube and TikTok, and automatic credits for library music.
  • You want to generate videos from code through an API.

Switching

If you already have scripts, paste one into InkSlop's narrated video template, pick a voice and background, and render. Re-create two or three of your best videos first and compare them before switching your whole channel.

Try InkSlop with a script you have already published.
