This Privacy Policy explains how Monni Technologies Oy ("we", "us", "our"), operating the inkslop service at https://inkslop.com, collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal data. We are the Data Controller under the GDPR.

By using inkslop you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Email address and profile details when you create an account
  • Content you upload (video files, audio, images) to generate videos
  • Payment information processed on your behalf by our payment processor (we do not store card details)
  • Communications you send us (support emails, feedback)

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, videos generated, credits consumed
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
  • Analytics data collected via PostHog and Microsoft Clarity (see Analytics section below)
  • Cookie data (see Cookies section below)

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the inkslop service
  • Process payments and manage your credit balance and subscription
  • Send transactional emails (e.g. video completion notifications, billing receipts)
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about your account
  • Analyse usage patterns to improve the service and fix bugs
  • Comply with legal obligations

Legal bases (GDPR): Contract performance (providing the service), legitimate interests (analytics, security, fraud prevention), legal obligation, and consent (optional analytics and advertising cookies).

Analytics

We use the following analytics tools to understand how the service is used:

PostHog: product analytics. PostHog collects page views, events, and session data. We proxy PostHog requests through our own domain to improve reliability. PostHog data is stored on PostHog's EU infrastructure. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Microsoft Clarity: session recording and heatmap analytics. Clarity records anonymised session replays and interaction heatmaps to help us identify usability issues. No personally identifiable information is deliberately captured. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

Both tools are only activated after you accept analytics cookies via our cookie consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by changing your cookie preferences.

Advertising

We display ads on blog pages via Google AdSense (Google LLC). AdSense uses cookies and device identifiers to serve personalised ads based on your interests and browsing history across the web. Google acts as an independent data controller for the data it collects through AdSense.

AdSense is only activated after you accept advertising cookies via our cookie consent banner. If you reject advertising cookies, no ad requests are made and no AdSense cookies are set.

You can opt out of personalised ads at any time via Google Ad Settings. See Google's Privacy Policy for full details. Google may transfer data to the United States; this transfer is covered by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Withdrawing consent for analytics cookies stops new data collection but does not delete previously collected data.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Data Storage and Security

Your files and generated videos are stored on Cloudflare R2 (EU region). We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and encrypted OAuth tokens.

Generated videos and uploaded files may be automatically deleted to manage storage quotas. You can delete your content at any time from your dashboard.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (e.g. transaction records).

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:

  • Access: request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure: request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction: request we limit processing of your data
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent: withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time

Children

inkslop is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top and notify you by email or via a notice on the site.
