Safe Zone Checker

Short-form apps draw their own buttons and text over your video: tabs at the top, like and share down the right, your name and caption along the bottom. Drop in a frame, a screenshot or a video to see what gets covered. Nothing is uploaded.

Dashed box: safe on all three apps. Keep faces, captions and text in here.

  • top (10%): Tabs and search (Following / For You)
  • right (16%): Like, comment, share and profile buttons
  • bottom (26%): Account name, caption, sound and progress bar
  • left (6%): Edge margin

One zone that fits TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels (the largest of each), checked October 2026. Each app's exact layout depends on the phone and changes now and then.

What to keep inside the safe zone

Captions, on-screen text, faces and anything you point at. Backgrounds and B-roll can run edge to edge. Captions placed low, where many editors put them by default, are the most common thing to get covered.
